It took Bill less than an hour to power up our SolMan Classic, a portable all-in-one solar-powered generator. Then we spent a couple days building a deck for it.
Why?
Because we didn't like the mud that splashed up on the solar panels when it rained, and we wanted a flat, stable base to make it easy to reposition our SolMan. (With a portable system like this, pivoting the unit a couple times a day to follow the sun can produce up to 40% more power.)
The platform has a simple frame of weather-treated 2x4s topped by decking and leveled on concrete blocks. The deck keeps the Solman off the wet ground when it rains and makes it a cinch to turn.
